Governance token of the Kinetiq protocol

The KNTQ token sits at the center of the Kinetiq protocol and serves as its governance token. KNTQ is the sole instrument through which all of Kinetiq’s value accrues.

The KNTQ genesis event took place on November 27th, 2025 on Hyperliquid, representing the first major token launch in the ecosystem.

Vesting schedule

All core contributors and investors share the same vesting schedule:

• Total duration: 3 years
• Cliff: 1 year
• Vesting: 2-year monthly linear vesting following the cliff.

Value accrual mechanisms

Kinetiq routes revenue from every product into KNTQ buybacks. Purchased tokens, along with any fees already paid in KNTQ, are sent to the Hyperliquid Assistance Fund⁠, permanently removing them from supply.

• Protocol revenue (KIP-2): 70% is used for buybacks. The remaining 30% funds treasury operations.
• Validator commissions (KIP-2): 100% of Kinetiq's share is used for buybacks. Active-set validators share 50% of the commission they charge on protocol stake, in perpetuity, as a condition of opting in.
• KNTQ trading fees⁠: 100% is sent directly to the Assistance Fund.
• Markets.xyz⁠: 100% of Kinetiq's disposable Markets income (minimum 10% of deployer share plus builder code revenue) is used for buybacks.
• Launch: 100% of Kinetiq's share of Launch revenue (10% of deployer share) is used for buybacks.
• Elysium⁠: 50% of sequencer revenue programmatically buys KNTQ on the open market.

sKNTQ

KNTQ can be staked for sKNTQ, which is used for governance. Unstaking sKNTQ features a 7-day withdrawal period.
